Fitting
Measured properly, worn happily
Children's feet grow in bursts, and a shoe half a size short does real harm. Measure both feet standing, at the end of the day, and leave a thumb's width at the toe.
Ages 1–3
Have the fit checked every eight weeks.
Ages 4–7
Every three to four months.
Ages 8 and up
Twice a year, and before each school term.
Our history
A century of first steps
Poll-Parrot began with Paul Parrott, a Knoxville shoe man born in Oneida, Tennessee, who kept a parrot in his shop and put the bird on a children's shoe. Saint Louis factories and International Shoe made it a national name. Shoe Money, a radio cruise and Howdy Doody made it a childhood. We still build shoes for growing feet.
